Lindeth Howe
Once owned by Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe is a 19th-Century manor house, now operating as a hotel with 32 bedrooms. The hotel has both spectacular views as well as a quirky vintage decor.
The hotel has an onsite car park with a small number of e-charging points.

Staying at the Venue
To stay at the venue on the night of the wedding, we have a discounted room price of £200. This is based on 2 guests sharing a room and includes breakfast the following morning. Additional Charges apply for extra guests Children £39.00 Adults £55 – for example in Family Rooms or in the case where we place folding beds in rooms.
This discounted rate of £200 per night is also available either side of the wedding night.
To book your stay at the venue, please call the venue on 015394 45759 and reference the Kinder Wedding on 16th May 2026. Please be aware that there are 80 guests invited and only 32 rooms available – they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Staying Elsewhere
Further down Lindeth Drive there are holiday cottage rentals (including Cobblestones Self Catering Holiday Cottage, Bowness Retreat and Storrs Lodge). On Longtail Hill there is also the Aphrodites Group Hotel. These are all within walking distance (though please be aware you will be walking on a narrow country driveway without street lights).
Other than the above options, you can also look at Air BnB/Booking.com (etc.) accommodation in Bowness-on-Winderemere, which is just a 5-minute drive away.
Uber does not operate in the area and the only taxi companies available are local ones. We have listed some of the local taxi companies below but please bear in mind that they will require booking in advance (preferably 2 – 3 weeks prior).
